There was an exhibit at the Museum of American Art that I would have loved to have seen.
It was called A Thousand Kisses – a collection of love letters from the museum’s archives. They’ve collected love letters from all sorts of oh-so-interesting people. From Frieda Kahlo (above) to Jackson Pollock.
This started me thinking on the many ways to write a love letter, from bubbly hearts and lipstick kissed paper to the downright dirty & teasingly erotic. It also made me realize how precious and timeless love letters are… and how interesting… So for my next FOUND project… I want anybody whose interested to go on a hunt for love letters. Dig them out of your personal collection, borrow some from friends, find one at an antique store, ask your grandparents! Then scan and send them to me and I’ll put them on my blog for everybody to enjoy!
Who’s in?
With lipstick kissed paper and teasing eroticism

Clair De Lune
The interesting simplicity of your walk,
The way you talk.
What you listen to,
What makes you – you.
How you say my name,
How you never do the same.
How the sunshine hits your eyes,
How it all applies,
To your beautiful simplicity,
Your spoken words are like a fragile delicacy.
You are like Claude Debussy’s Clair De Lune,
Like the first early morning of June.
The first snowflake ever to fall from the sky,
And to conquer you, I will definitely try.
I have prayed to whatever is God, and to the Devil,
Being with you is better than a revel.
I have prayed for you to love me,
So we could both experience the glee.
And So I hope, you’ll understand,
And we together could then stand.
I wrote this when I was in love once, and I don’t think that love ever died. x]
